What is UUID Generator?

A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit value that is practically guaranteed to be unique, making it ideal for database primary keys and distributed identifiers. This generator supports version 4 (fully random) and version 7 (time-ordered, which indexes better), with batch generation and formatting options.

How to use

  1. Choose version 4 (random) or version 7 (time-ordered).
  2. Set how many UUIDs to generate at once, from 1 to 100.
  3. Optionally enable uppercase output or remove the hyphens.
  4. Click Generate and copy individual values or the whole batch.

Use Cases

  • Generating collision-resistant primary keys for new database rows.
  • Creating unique IDs in distributed systems without a central counter.
  • Producing realistic unique identifiers for test fixtures and seed data.
